    Historic Lund
Located about 28 km from Powell River is the historic coastal village of Lund. Settled in the late 1800s as a frontier settlement, the community still has a few interesting historical buildings. The Historic Lund Hotel was built in 1894 and is as grand today as it was in its day, complete with a pub, restaurant, banquet room, shop and accommodations. There are numerous resorts in the area providing boat rentals. The starting point for the Sunshine Coast Trail (a 180-km trail) begins here at Sarah Point, thus Lund is popular with hikers.

    Willingdon Beach Trail
The Willingdon Beach Trail got its start as a railroad from Willingdon to the historic townsite. The tracks were torn up in 1926, providing an ideal walking trail. This wide walkway is now wilderness delight that is infused with interpretive historical signs and littered with historical artifacts and points of interest.
